How Dermalux® light therapy for skin works
LED Phototherapy for skin is based on the principle that living cells absorb light. Although light exposure is typically associated with damaging and ageing effects, with this treatment, controlled levels of red, blue and near infrared light deliver healing effects, stimulating the skin cells without exposing them to the damaging UV rays.
Red light is proven to reduce fine lines and improve the skin’s tone and texture. Blue light helps to destroy acne bacteria and normalise oil production, and infra-red light soothes redness and irritation, as well as helping to promote skin healing. This healing effect makes Dermalux® therapy ideal to follow skin peels, laser and injectable treatments.
The effects of Dermalux® LED Phototherapy are an entirely natural response by the skin’s cells, similar to that of plant photo-synthesis.
Dermalux® treats acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema
Dermalux® has been used to treat these common skin conditions, and patients often experience the benefits after just one treatment, with some quite dramatic improvements achieved through a course of six treatments.
Dermalux® reduces the effects of rosacea, a common, often chronic condition characterised by redness, spots and small, visible blood vessels, and is also ideal for acne or spot-prone skin, as the combined effect of the red, blue and near infrared lights soothes, reduces inflammation and results in plumper, more hydrated skin with fewer signs of ageing.
Psoriasis can be unpredictable and inconvenient, and the creams available can help, but are messy and not always completely effective. Dermalux® offers a pain-free alternative option, relieving the symptoms and stimulating the skin’s own natural healing responses.
Dermalux® can also be integrated with other skin treatments to stimulate the body’s natural processes and accelerate or augment the results.
