Ultherapy®, also known at the lunchtime lift, is the only FDA approved, non-invasive procedure that lifts and tightens skin on the brow, chin and neck, and improves the appearance of wrinkles on the décolletage and chest area. It uses safe ultrasound energy to deliver collagen-boosting effects, helping ageing skin to achieve a more youthful look.
Ultrasound has been used safely across many medical fields for over 50 years and clinical studies have shown it to be both safe and effective. The Ultherapy® procedure uses focused ultrasound energy to boost the skin’s natural collagen production, without any needles, toxins or surgical incisions. It bypasses the skin’s surface to deliver energy to the right tissue depth and triggers the skin’s natural regenerative response – producing new, fresh collagen.
The treatment is ideal for skin which is beginning to show the signs of ageing, and is a non-invasive facelift alternative for patients who do not feel ready for surgery, or can be beneficial in extending the effects after cosmetic surgery.
Ultherapy®, the true lunchtime lift
The treatment takes between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the area being treated, and there is no downtime. Most patients only require one initial treatment, and there are no special post-procedure measures needed, so you really can enjoy the benefits of a lift in your lunch hour. You don’t even need to change your normal skin care routine. Some patients will see immediate initial results, but for most people, significant improvement shows after 4-6 months, as the stimulated collagen production in the skin’s foundation begins to lift and tighten the area treated.
Ultherapy® Centre of Excellence in Surrey
Health & Aesthetics, in Elstead, Surrey is an Ultherapy® Centre of Excellence, and our medical doctor, Dr Rekha Tailor, and her team are highly experienced in delivering this therapy. It is effective on all skin types, although an initial consultation is required to ensure suitability for the treatment. During treatment, ultrasound is delivered deep beneath the skin, felt as tiny amounts of energy. This isn’t painful (how much is felt depends on the individual), the sensation lasts only during the treatment and there is no soreness or redness afterwards. After 4-6 months, as the body naturally regenerates collagen, the ultimate results are visible. These results typically last around 18-24 months, but this depends on the individual’s ageing process, and for best results a maintenance treatment every 12-18 months is recommended.
