Needle phobia can be a big barrier to people considering aesthetic treatments, even though the tiny needles used to deliver precision treatments like Mesotherapy and Botox are so fine they give the merest pinprick.
Many companies have tried to create a gel or cream to deliver Botox-type treatments without needles, but to date, these attempts simply haven’t been as effective. Even the most popular gel – purportedly favoured by the Duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex – has received dubious reviews, and there are no scientific studies demonstrating real results from a gel. So many patients who don’t like needles have opted for laser treatments instead, or simply gone without.
If that sounds like you, this new development could have you rushing to book your next Mesotherapy appointment.
Mesotherapy with Med-Jet: a range of skin and hair-loss treatments without needles
Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive therapy that usually uses tiny injections into the skin’s mesodermal layers to stimulate the skin’s natural collagen production, improving general appearance, but also treating scars.
Mesotherapy uses Hyaluronic Acid blends to promote the production of collagen and elastin, rejuvenating and refreshing the skin, and improving a wide range of conditions including lack of hydration, dullness, ageing or loose skin, pigmentation and puffiness.
Mesotherapy is also a highly effective treatment for hair loss conditions, including androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata. The treatment helps to nourish and boost cell activity, stimulating hair growth and resulting in thicker, fuller hair.
Now, Health & Aesthetics has the new Med-Jet device which can deliver Mesotherapy without the need for traditional injections. Med-Jet uses a microscopic jet of pressurised CO2, seven times finer than the finest needle, to deliver the treatment with precision accuracy, offering a real, effective alternative to needles. The jet pushes the treatment into the skin and the dose is dispersed into the desired layer of tissue, but because no needle is used, there is less trauma to the skin, and less stress for the patient, whose comfort and safety is assured.
Even for patients who aren’t worried about needles, this method of delivery has significant benefits. Med-Jet can also be used to deliver Botox to areas which are simply too sensitive for needles to be used comfortably. Here at Health & Aesthetics, we are using Med-Jet to deliver Botox to the hands and feet, where it’s used to prevent excess sweating – and where even microscopic needles can cause excessive discomfort.
Using the Med-Jet device to deliver Mesotherapy or Botox without needles, Health & Aesthetics can offer these exceptional treatments with increased comfort and faster treatment times.
Dr Rekha Tailor, Health & Aesthetics’ Medical Director, said: “The Med-Jet device represents a real advance in treatments which could previously only be administered by needles. Even though the needles we use are microscopic, many people still have a fear of them – a fear which can be strong enough to prevent them from seeking out treatments which could make a real difference to how they feel about themselves.
Hair loss, skin conditions relating to the ageing process, and excessive perspiration can really affect people’s self-esteem, and we offer a range of highly effective treatments. Now we’re delighted to be able to offer our patients an alternative to needle injections, which will enable more people to benefit from treatments which can get excellent results.”
