What causes hooded eyes & heavy brows?
As we age, our bodies produce less collagen and elastin and as a result our skin becomes less elastic, causing wrinkles. These wrinkles can appear anywhere on the body, especially around the eyes which are constantly moving as we blink, squint and smile.
Another cause of hooded eyes is a heavy brow or eye shape. The brows appear heavy as we age due to loosening of the tissues in our forehead as we age. Sometimes, the eye shape means that the fold at the upper eyelid is lower which gives the appearance of hooded eyes.
Treatments for hooded eyes & heavy brows
Wrinkle relaxing injections can be used to lift the brow, therefore lifting the skin on the eyelid. This is done by injecting using superfine needles into certain points on the forehead to lift the brows.
The Hybrid CO2 laser is a fantastic option for any ageing around the eye as it effectively tackles lines and wrinkles on and around the eye.
Laser Genesis for eyes is a fantastic treatment for those with the early onset of ageing and hooded eyes. This is a laser treatment which stimulates the skin causing it to produce collagen and elastin.
Sofwave has developed Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam (SUPERB™)technology, which can dramatically lift your eyebrows and reduce the wrinkles in your furrowed forehead – all without having to schedule surgery with a cosmetic surgeon and allowing you to avoid enduring a long healing process.
