Everything you need to know about Virtual Consultations

What is a virtual consultation?
A virtual consultation enables us to provide our patients with a consultation via video conferencing technology. We are able to speak to you using your smartphone, tablet, or PC.
Real-time video conferencing has become familiar to us in everyday life. Now, it is being used as a digital option for new and existing healthcare services, including skin consultations.
The need for virtual consultations has been propelled into the mainstream due to the social distancing restrictions enforced on us during the Covid-19 pandemic. This presents a great opportunity to modernise our traditional consultation services.
Benefits of online consultations.
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, virtual consultations have enabled our clinic to deliver online consultations when it was not possible to deliver these appointments in person.
Patients can access our services in a more convenient way. You don’t have to travel to clinics or take time away from work, childcare, or school. You may save money on travel, and can be seen quicker if joining online is more convenient.
In this current environment it also allows our team to interact with you without the need for masks. That means we are able to clearly see your face/skin as well as you being able to see ours.
How to book a consultation
To book in a consultation with either Dr Rehka Tailor or one of our Aestheticians, then please email us on info@healthandaesthetics.co.uk with the following information:
- Tell us about your current skincare regime – is it working?
- What are your skin goals
- 3 photos – front and side views
Please provide as much information as you can as this will enable us to be fully prepared for your consultation when the time comes.
Once we have received your request, our team will contact you to arrange to book a time that is preferable to you. We also ask for a small redeemable deposit for consultations:
- Doctor consultations: £90
- Aesthetician consultations: £40
You will then receive confirmation of your virtual consultation, as well as some medical forms to fill in beforehand.
What happens during a virtual consultation?
When you are ready, the confirmation email will contain a secure link to the virtual consultation that is run on a specially designed medical platform. This is to ensure each session is private and no unencrypted information is ever stored. And to ensure confidentiality, we carry out consultations alone in a closed-off room with no interruptions.
Just like a regular face-to-face consultation, what your digital consultation covers is up to you – whether that’s injectables, other aesthetic treatments, or purely skin care. We are offering consultations for all treatments, including skin treatments, skin care, injectables, laser hair removal, and skin tightening.
Doctors appointments are 45 minutes long and Aesthetician appointments are 40 minutes long. In this time you can ask any questions you have on a range of issues. During this time our team will be making notes to ensure they capture the right information.
What happens after my virtual consultation?
Once you’ve logged off, the team member that conducted your consultation will put together a personalised bespoke treatment plan. This will consider a variety of things, including budget, availability, and overall goals.
Once this has been received, you can look over and decide for yourself if you would like to go ahead with the treatment plan. If you decide on a treatment plan, your deposit is fully redeemable on both products and treatments within the clinic.
