Why I Always Consult Before I Treat?

Hyperdilute Radiesse is a bespoke treatment, and I mean that properly, not just as a nice phrase we put on the website. There is no set number of syringes or sessions that works for everyone, which is why I never treat anyone on the same day as their first consultation. Every patient’s skin is different, and taking the time to get the plan right matters far more to me than getting you into the treatment room quickly.

What to Expect

1. Consultation first, always

I will not treat you on the day you first come in. We will spend proper time going through your skin, talking about what is bothering you and what you are hoping to achieve, and from that I will put together a treatment plan that is built around you rather than a standard template.

2. Prescription and consent

This is a prescription-only medicine, so once we have agreed your plan, I will talk you through exactly what is involved and make sure you are comfortable before we sign anything. There should be no surprises on treatment day.

3. The treatment itself

I inject the diluted solution using a fine needle or cannula, working it evenly through the area we are treating. Most patients tell me it is more of a mild discomfort than anything painful, and it is usually over quicker than they expect.

4. Aftercare

You can generally get straight back to your day. Some patients get a little swelling or the odd small bruise, but this tends to settle within a few days and is easy enough to cover if needed.

5. Review

As you are having a course, I will see you again along the way so I can check how your skin is responding and fine-tune the plan if it needs it. It is not a one-off appointment and forget.

Results: What to Expect

Because Hyperdilute Radiesse works by getting your own skin to produce new collagen, you will not see a dramatic change overnight, and that is exactly the point. Most patients start to notice their skin feeling firmer and looking smoother within a few weeks, and the full benefit of a course builds gradually over the following months.

In my experience, results generally last anywhere from several months to a year or more, depending on the area treated and how your own skin behaves. Plenty of patients come back for the odd top up treatment once their initial course is done, just to keep things ticking along.

Safety, Side Effects and Who It's Not Suitable For

Radiesse is an FDA cleared product with a long history of safe use, and the evidence behind using it in this hyperdiluted way for skin rejuvenation keeps growing. As with any injectable treatment, there can be side effects. The most common ones are mild swelling, some redness or a bit of bruising around the injection sites, and these usually settle within a few days.

This treatment is not right for everyone, and I would not carry it out if you:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have a known allergy to any of the ingredients
• Have an active skin infection in the area we would be treating
• Have certain autoimmune or connective tissue conditions
• Are on medication that affects clotting, without discussing it with me first

I will go through your full medical history at your consultation to make sure this treatment is genuinely safe and suitable for you.

Pricing

I always recommend starting with a course of treatments rather than a single syringe, as this tends to give the best and longest lasting improvement in skin quality. A single syringe can work well for a top up once you have finished your initial course.
