What is the Alma Hybrid Laser Treatment?

The Alma Hybrid™ laser harnesses 3 powerful technologies for optimal rejuvenation treatment results:

  • CO2 laser – the most optimal blend of ablative, coagulative, and thermal laser technology for precise focus and fractional therapy.
  • 1570nm Erbium Glass Laser– a powerful non-ablative laser that creates a thermal effect, promoting new dermal synthesis, whilst leaving the epidermis intact, thus minimising downtime.
  • IMPACT Ultrasound – for Trans Epidermal Delivery (TED), this patented ultrasound technology creates an acoustic pressure that enables the delivery of cosmeceutical products to the skin through the micro-channels, which have been created by the CO2 laser in Alma Hybrid™.

In addition to these powerful technologies, we can create a bespoke treatment programme depending on the individual’s skin type.

Hybrid CO2 laser

Soft Lift

Experience a treatment with virtually no recovery time. The Soft Lift treatment uses only the Erbium Glass Laser to stimulate collagen production through a thermal effect. This treatment can reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as producing a lifting and tightening effect on areas such as above the eyelids. This treatment is suitable for all skin types and and leaves skin feeling smooth and glowing. As the skin remains intact on the surface the only downtime is some slight redness for a day or two. Soft Lift treatments can be done more regularly at 4 to 6 weeks apart and 6 treatments are usually needed for best results.

What happens during the treatment?

Your skin will be cleansed and a topical anaesthetic may be applied to the treatment area. Once this has taken effect, your practitioner will pass the laser across the treatment area. After the treatment has finished, you can return to your daily activities as normal.

What can Alma Hybrid™ treatments address?

Alma Hybrid treatments can address various skin concerns including:

  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Acne and other scars
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Hyperpigmentation

The treatments are suitable for all skin tones with precautions of the darkest skin types.

During the treatment, every pixel can be chosen to suit the parameters and ratio – one pixel can be non-ablative, while the other can be ablative. This enables the treatment of virtually any body area.

Why does my skin need to be prepped before treatment with Alma Hybrid?

Skin needs to be prepped with recommended skincare for a minimum of 6 weeks ahead of treatment. Skincare products help to remove dirt, oils, and impurities as well as layers of dead skin ensuring the skin is clear and hydrated ready to absorb the benefits of the treatment. Prepping the skin reduces the risks of pigmentation post treatment and improves recovery.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

For ablative treatments we recommend a course of 3 treatments at 12 weekly intervals. However, some patients see excellent results even after just one session. The number of treatments you are likely to require will be discussed in your pre-treatment consultation. Some patients with heavier scaring will need up to 6 treatments.

What is the downtime following an Alma Hybrid™ laser treatment?

As the technology in this laser is so advanced, the downtime is significantly reduced. However, you will likely experience some redness, potential swelling and tenderness following this treatment, which can be managed with topical applications, advised by your practitioner.

What is the Aftercare for the CO2 Laser?

We provide you with a protocol using ZO Skin Health which reduces healing time. You are provided with extensive aftercare advice following your treatment.

Am I suitable for a treatment with Alma Hybrid™?

Before any treatment can be carried out at Health & Aesthetics, we ask that you attend a consultation, so that your practitioner can assess your specific concerns, discuss your desires for results, your budget, the downtime you can undergo as well as any medical history which might affect the possibility of having a specific treatment.

Once we are satisfied that the Alma Hybrid™ will be a suitable and safe treatment for you to undergo, you can book your first treatment session.

What else can I do to compliment the Alma Hybrid™ treatments?

It is essential to prep the skin with ZO Skin Health by Dr Zein Obagi so that you reduce your risk of hyperpigmentation and also heal quickly.

A chemical peel is sometimes recommended to patients as this can help to further rejuvenate the skin
