What causes of a double chin?

A double chin can be caused by a few different factors. Firstly, those with less definition in their jaw will often suffer from a double chin as the tissue of the chin lacks the structural support from the jaw.

In addition to this, some people may carry some extra weight around their face. This pocket of fat is hard to shift through diet and exercise alone and can add to the effects of a double chin or soft jaw.

How to treat a double chin

CoolSculpting freezes fat in the treatment area causing fat cell death. It is FDA approved which means it is proven to be safe and effective. This is the best cryolipolysis treatment on the market and can reduce fat in the treatment area by up to 25%. We use the Cool Mini applicator to treat the chin area, to destroy the fat cells and reduce the appearance of the double chin.

Juvederm Volux is specifically designed to sculpt the jawline. It is a thicker filler developed and launched in April 2019 by Allergan (the owners of Botox). It was produced to sculpt the jawline and chin and create a stronger jaw and chin. In turn this lifts the chin area and reduces the appearance of a double chin. This is a longer lasting Hyaluronic Acid filler which can last between 18-24 months.

Ultherapy is an FDA approved treatment which is clinically proven to lift and define the face and neck. It uses microfocused ultrasound to cause micro injuries beneath the skin which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. As a result, this creates a lift and is perfect for those wishing to reduce the appearance of a weak chin with a lift.
