About Health and Aesthetics Clinic
Julaine of Sweden results showing collagen-stimulated skin

Restore elasticity and firmness naturally

During the ageing process, collagen and elastin – proteins which are essential in maintaining firm skin – diminish, leading to fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. JULÄINE™ of Sweden is a PLLA-based injectable that stimulates the generation of healthy new collagen for a truly natural result without the use of traditional dermal fillers.

JULÄINE™ is unique due to it’s LaSynPro technology meaning that inflammatory pathways are not created unlike other injectable collagen stimulators. Only healthy Type 1 collagen is created, so there is no risk of inflammation, fibrosis or nodules.

Julaine is CE-marked signifying that it meets the European Union’s safety requirements and is in the process of FDA approval.

Treatment process

  • Before treatment Dr Tailor will take you through our full medical consultation to get an understanding of your needs and to answer any queries you may have. From this, we can develop a bespoke treatment plan which will best target your unique requirements and allow for natural results.
  • When you come in for treatment, your doctor will administer the treatment in your targeted areas. This should take around 30 minutes.
  • After treatment, your doctor may discuss any aftercare needs, but you should be able to return to daily activities straight away. It’s important to refrain from touching the treatment area to help prevent the risk of infection.

Three treatments are required spaced over 12-18 weeks. Annual maintenance treatments are recommended.

I have been coming to Health &. Aesthetics for several years. For anyone who wants to slow down the agent process, and have their skin looking the best it can be, I cannot recommend Dr Taylor and her aestheticians highly enough. They are extremely knowledgeable, professional and personable. The hydrofacials leave my skin looking and feeling fantastic. It’s so well worth it.

FAQs

What is the difference between Julaine and Sculptra?

Julaine is a newer generation of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Unlike Sculptra, it stimulates the body to produce only type 1 collagen, which helps to minimise the risk of inflammation, fibrosis, or nodules.

What is the difference between Julaine and Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are DNA fragments derived from fish sperm, while Julaine is a synthetic form of poly-L-lactic acid. Polynucleotides are primarily used to improve skin health and texture and are often used to prepare the skin for energy-based treatments. Julaine, on the other hand, has a tightening effect and is ideal for addressing skin laxity and facial hollowing. Both treatments can be combined for enhanced results.

What is the difference between Julaine and Dermal Fillers?

Julaine is a collagen-stimulating injectable made from synthetic poly-L-lactic acid, whereas the dermal fillers we use are based on hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers are best for instantly replacing significant lost volume, with results lasting up to 18 months. Julaine works by encouraging your body to produce its own collagen over time, thickening the skin. Results develop gradually and can last up to 2 years. A course of 3 treatments is typically recommended, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Julaine and dermal fillers can also be safely combined.

Can I book this treatment straight away?

All patients must have a consultation with Dr Tailor before receiving Julaine. If you’re suitable for treatment, we will schedule it for a later date following a mandatory 48-hour cooling-off period.

How long does it take to see results?

Results develop gradually over 2 to 3 months, with continued improvement for up to 2 years as your body produces new collagen.

Is the treatment painful?

Most patients find the treatment very tolerable. We use a cannula for injection, which is typically more comfortable than needles. You may feel some mild stinging or pressure during the procedure and experience slight tenderness for a few days afterwards.

How long does the treatment take?

Each session takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. A course of 3 sessions is required for optimal results.
