What is Emsella?

Emsella is a non-invasive treatment for pelvic floor muscles in incontinence and intimate discomfort. The Emsella chair uses HIFEM (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) frequencies to independently target the pelvic floor muscles and muscles at the neck of the bladder. This causes the muscles to contract and release, in the same way standard kegel exercises do. However, with the Emsella chair, the muscles are given a workout equivalent to 11,000 kegel exercises per treatment session!

Emsella is the only procedure that targets pelvic floor muscles and causes deep pelvic floor stimulation because of HIFEM®* technology.

During the Emsella treatment you will be completely clothed yet, we recommended loosely fitted clothing to help achieve best positioning during treatment. When the treatment starts you will feel slight tingling and vibrations in your pelvic floor muscles that will then turn into full contractions. This will be completely comfortable and tolerable.

Take this 28-minute session to relax, read a magazine, or watch television. You will be able to return to normal activities after the treatment.

What is Urinary Incontinence?

Urinary incontinence is defined as the involuntary leakage of urine. This might be a result of weak pelvic floor muscles since pelvic floor muscles play an important role in supporting pelvic organs and controlling continence. There are three different types of urinary incontinence:

Stress incontinence: is when there is exerted pressure on the bladder causing leakage. This can be caused by coughing, laughing, sneezing, or exercising.
Urge incontinence: is the sudden, intense urge to urinate frequently.
Mixed incontinence: is a combination of both stress and urge incontinence.

Physiological changes can contribute to the development of urinary incontinence; changes such as vaginal delivery, menopause, and aging can decondition pelvic floor muscles. In order to improve symptoms, it is important to strengthen these muscles. Possible ways to improve your condition may include lifestyle changes and Kegel exercises.

Frequently Asked Questions

Well, it really depends. We need to see you to determine your medical condition and recommend how many treatments are needed to get the result you are after.

Emsella is FDA cleared, medical CE-marked, and represents the first innovative technology that has been shown in multiple studies to treat incontinence and intimate discomfort. When you come in for a consultation, the doctor will cover how Emsella works and discuss the unique safety profile in detail.

That is the best thing about Emsella. Patients say it is completely painless, the procedure feels like an intense pelvic floor workout. You can sit on the Emsella chair and relax during the treatment.

This may vary depending on your age, physical condition, and many other aspects. In general, patients begin to feel tangible results right after the treatment. Positive results typically continue to improve over the next few weeks.

Nothing in life lasts forever and this will vary according to your health condition. The clinical studies show that the majority of patients are able to maintain the results 6 months after their treatment series. However, we recommend booking another consultation a few months after your treatments to see if you may benefit from any additional treatments. Keeping a healthy lifestyle is the key to maintain your results in the longer term.

Compared to other procedures, there is absolutely no downtime. You can get back to any daily activity immediately following the procedure.

EMSELLA uses electromagnetic energy to cause deep pelvic floor muscle stimulation without getting undressed! A single BTL EMSELLA session brings thousands of Kegel-like contractions which help you train your muscles without any effort. Scientific research shows that 95% of incontinent patients reported significant improvement in day-to-day life and 85% improvement was observed in overall intimate satisfaction.*
