Leg veins are diminished.
Leg veins can be treated using our Cutera Excel V+ laser. Laser light is absorbed by the red blood cells in the blood vessels which causes the cells to become sticky and then causes the vessels to collapse. These collapsed vessels are then absorbed by the body.
A soothing ultrasound jelly is applied to the skin which provides a cooling contact for a special sapphire tip. This helps to ensure that the skin is kept cool and protected during the treatment. It also enables a soothing treatment with minimal discomfort. The laser feels like a warm flicking sensation with soothing cooling before and after the laser. Typically no anaesthetic cream is required.
Both the KTP and long pulse Nd:YAG lasers can be used to trace the thread veins, which can be seen to immediately diminish after each laser shot. The laser light heats up the blood vessels, which then collapse, and then seal shut. They are then broken down by the body’s own natural healing mechanism.
The average person will see an reduction in just one session, but you may need more sessions depending on the severity of the leg veins.
Leg Vein treatments are extremely safe. They only use a beam of laser light that collapses the vessel. It is a completely non-invasive treatment.
The short answer is no. Once we have targeted those specific veins, they are damaged and absorbed into the body, However, there will inevitably be a few veins that manage to escape the laser during each treatment. We suggest periodic, occasional maintenance treatments for optimal long-lasting results.
