Causes of ageing hands
As we age, hands become less plump and the skin thins. This makes the bones, veins and tendons become more visible. With sun damage you can also notice brown spots appearing too. The combination of all of this creates an aged hand which is very difficult to treat with simple high street hand cream.
This is entirely treatable and at Health & Aesthetics we recommend utilising a combination of our treatments to rejuvenate the volume in hands, rejuvenating the skin and reducing the pigmentation in the skin.
Treatments for hand rejuvenation
Fillers can be carefully injected into the back of the hand to restore volume into the hands. This reduces the appearance of the veins, bones and tendons.
Profhilo can also be injected into the back of the hands to improve lines and wrinkles and also the skin thickness and elasticity.
Using the IPL which is part of our Harmony Laser system, we can target the pigmentation and brown spots. The laser is attracted to the darker colouring of the brown spots, shatters it and draws it to the surface causing the body to break it down. When combined with a retinol treatment such as ZO Skin Health Skin Brightener (0.25%, 0.5% or 1% retinol) you can rejuvenate the skin and reduce pigmentation and brown spots.
Chemical Peels are also a fantastic option for those looking to rejuvenate their skin on the hands. Chemical peels banish brown spots and also improves the texture and quality of skin on the hands. It is a quick and simple procedure which produces fantastic results.
ClearLift is a laser treatment which fights wrinkles and skin laxity. This can be used on the hands to fight fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and hence tightening the skin.
Mesotherapy is another effective way to improve the lines and wrinkles and skin thickness and elasticity. This treatment would involve a series of treatments at 1-2 weekly intervals.
