Dermal Fillers
Looking to rejuvenate your appearance but keep a natural and authentic image? At Health & Aesthetics, we are proud to offer premium quality dermal filler treatments that can subtly yet effectively refresh your look.
SuneKOS is an injectable skin rejuvenation treatment that combines a specific blend of amino acids with hyaluronic acid to stimulate your skin’s own collagen and elastin production from within. It does not add volume in the way that fillers do. It works by prompting your skin to repair and rebuild itself. The results tend to look natural because they essentially are: your skin is doing the work.
My patients are not just looking for a temporary fix; they want their skin to actually improve. SuneKOS is a treatment that delivers results beyond the surface level. It is not a temporary fix and and improves the skin from within.
Improves collagen production. Improves skin texture, fine lines. loose thin skin. Can treat face, neck, decolletage and hands.
Very little with mild swelling and possibly mild bruising. This can be easily concealed with make-up.
Three initial treatments followed by maintenance treatments every 6 months.
Individuals with a known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid. Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Hydrates, improves firmness and texture and so improves lines and wrinkles.
SuneKOS is an injectable treatment made up of a patented formula of six amino acids combined with hyaluronic acid. The amino acids are not a random selection: they are the specific building blocks that fibroblasts, the cells in your dermis that produce collagen and elastin, actually use to do their job. By delivering them directly into the skin, you are giving those cells the raw materials they need to start producing structural proteins again.
What makes SuneKOS different from standard skin boosters is that it is not just adding hydration. Hyaluronic acid skin boosters are excellent for plumping and moisturising. However, SuneKOS is doing something more fundamental: it is prompting genuine tissue regeneration. Over a course of treatment, you will see improvements in skin texture, tone, elasticity and firmness that continue to develop even after the final session, as the collagen remodelling process carries on.
There are two formulations I use: SuneKOS Performa, which is the lighter of the two and works well for skin quality, fine lines, hydration and early laxity, and SuneKOS 1200, which contains a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid and is better suited to areas where laxity is more noticeable or skin density has started to decline. I often use both preparations.
It is worth being clear about what SuneKOS cannot do. It is not a replacement for fillers if you need volume. It will not correct significant skin sagging. What it will do is meaningfully improve the quality, texture and resilience of your skin in a way that looks entirely natural.
This is a treatment I recommend across a fairly wide age range, because the underlying mechanism, supporting your skin’s own regenerative capacity, is relevant at different life stages for different reasons.
In your thirties and early forties, collagen production is starting to slow down and you may be noticing early changes in skin texture or the beginnings of fine lines. SuneKOS works well here as both a corrective and a genuinely preventative measure. In your forties and fifties, it is particularly effective for addressing skin laxity, hollowing and the gradual loss of density that can make the face look tired or older than it feels. In the sixties and beyond, I tend to combine it with other treatments for a more comprehensive approach, but it remains a valuable part of what I offer.
It works well on the face, neck, decolletage and hands. These are all areas where skin quality tends to decline noticeably with age and where conventional treatments can sometimes look unnatural. The progressive, biostimulatory nature of SuneKOS tends to produce results that are hard for people to put their finger on in a positive way: you just look well.
I do not offer same-day treatments to new patients. I know that might sound inconvenient and I understand it occasionally frustrates people who are ready to go. But there are good reasons for it.
SuneKOS involves injections into the dermis, across multiple points, in areas that require a thorough understanding of facial anatomy. I need to assess your skin properly before I treat it: its condition, the areas that will respond best, whether there are any contraindications I need to know about, and whether this is genuinely the right treatment for your concerns. Sometimes it is and sometimes there is something else, or a combination of things, that would give you a better result.
I also think it is important that you understand what you are having done, what to expect during a course of treatment, and what realistic improvement looks like. SuneKOS is not a one-and-done procedure. It requires commitment to a course of sessions and some patience while the biological process does its work. I would rather you come in well-informed than disappointed because the result did not match an expectation we never discussed.
Consultation first, always
Every new patient starts with a proper medical consultation. I need to understand your skin history, what you have tried before, what medications you are on, and what you are realistically hoping to achieve. SuneKOS works beautifully for the right patient, but it is not for everyone, and I will tell you honestly if I think something else would serve you better.
Preparing your skin
I will advise you on what to avoid before your session. Certain skincare actives, supplements and treatments can affect how your skin responds, so it is worth planning ahead. Nothing complicated, but worth knowing.
The treatment itself
Each session takes around 20 to 30 minutes. I use fine needles to inject SuneKOS into the mid-dermis across the areas we have agreed to treat. The technique is methodical rather than dramatic. Most patients find it very manageable. A mild anaesthetic cream can be applied beforehand if you prefer.
Aftercare
Some redness and minor swelling is normal in the first day or two. I will give you written aftercare before you leave. The main things: avoid intense heat, direct sun, strenuous exercise and certain skincare for a short period. It is not complicated.
The full course
SuneKOS works progressively. One session will not give you the full picture. Most patients complete three sessions spaced two to three weeks apart, and the improvement continues to build for several weeks after the final session. Patience is part of the process, and I will be honest with you at each appointment about how you are responding.
SuneKOS is not a treatment where you walk out and immediately see a transformation. That is not how it works, and I am always upfront about that. What you will notice in the days after your first session is some initial hydration and a subtle improvement in radiance. The more meaningful changes, the improvements in texture, firmness and elasticity, come progressively as your fibroblasts respond and the collagen remodelling process gets underway.
By the end of a full course of three to four sessions, most patients see a clear improvement in skin quality that tends to continue developing for several weeks after the final treatment. The results look natural because they are a product of your own skin renewing itself, not something being added from outside.
In terms of longevity, the effects typically last between six and twelve months depending on your age, skin condition, lifestyle and how your body responds. Maintenance sessions every six months or so help sustain the improvement. I will always be honest with you at review about how you are responding and what I recommend going forward.
SuneKOS has a good safety profile and has been used in clinical aesthetics across Europe for a number of years. The ingredients, amino acids and hyaluronic acid, are naturally occurring substances that your body recognises and works with rather than against. That said, it involves injections, and all injectable treatments carry some level of risk, which I will discuss with you fully before we proceed.
The most common side effects are mild redness, swelling or bruising at the injection sites, which typically resolves within a day or two. Because SuneKOS is injected at multiple points across the treatment area, there can be more post-treatment redness than with a single-point injection, though it is generally short-lived. I will always make sure you know what to expect before your appointment so you can plan accordingly.
If you are unsure about any of these, mention it when you get in touch. That is exactly what the consultation is for.
I qualified as a doctor at Manchester Medical School and spent years working in NHS hospitals and general practice before moving into aesthetics full-time in 2005. That background isn’t just a line on a CV: it genuinely shapes how I work.
I’m a GP first. That means I think about the whole patient, not just the concern they’ve booked in for. I’m used to taking thorough histories, spotting things that don’t quite add up, and having difficult conversations when I think something isn’t right. Those habits don’t disappear in an aesthetic setting; if anything, they’re more important.
I am also selective about what I offer. I do not add treatments to my menu because they are fashionable. I add them when I am satisfied with the evidence and when I believe they genuinely offer something for my patients. SuneKOS is one of those treatments. I have seen it work well, I understand the mechanism, and I feel confident recommending it to the right patients.

Profhilo is predominantly hyaluronic acid, which is excellent for deep hydration and creating a bio-remodelling effect. SuneKOS adds the specific amino acids that fibroblasts need to produce collagen and elastin. The mechanisms overlap but SuneKOS has a stronger focus on actively stimulating structural protein production. They can also complement each other well, which is something I can discuss with you at consultation.
Most patients complete a course of three to four sessions, spaced two to three weeks apart. This is not arbitrary: the biostimulatory process takes time, and spacing sessions correctly allows each one to build on the last. I will give you a clear recommendation at consultation based on your skin and your goals.
You will notice some initial improvement in hydration and radiance quite quickly, but the more significant changes in firmness, texture and elasticity develop progressively over the course of treatment and continue for several weeks after the final session. I always advise patients not to judge SuneKOS by a single appointment.
SuneKOS is injected at multiple points across the treatment area, which means there are more needle passes than some other injectable treatments. Most patients find it very manageable. It is not a treatment I would describe as particularly painful.
Yes, and it often makes sense to do so. SuneKOS pairs well with anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and Polynucleotides depending on your concerns. I tend to think about treatments as working together towards a broader goal rather than as standalone procedures. We can map that out at consultation.
Yes, when it is done by someone who understands what they are doing. The ingredients in SuneKOS are naturally occurring and well tolerated. Side effects are typically mild and short-lived. I will always take a full medical history and discuss any risks specific to you before we proceed.
Typically six to twelve months, though this varies depending on your age, skin condition and lifestyle. Maintenance sessions every six months or so help to sustain the improvement. I will always give you an honest assessment at your review appointments.
Yes. The neck and decolletage are areas where I use SuneKOS regularly: crepey, thinning skin in these areas responds well. The hands are also a good candidate, particularly if you are noticing changes in skin quality and texture. We discuss which areas are most relevant to you at consultation.
Both are biostimulatory treatments, which means they work by encouraging your skin to regenerate rather than simply filling or freezing it, and both have generated a lot of interest for good reason. But they work through different mechanisms. Polynucleotides (PDRN or PN) are derived from purified DNA fragments, typically from salmon or trout, and they stimulate skin repair and regeneration primarily through growth factor activation and an anti-inflammatory pathway. SuneKOS works by delivering the specific amino acids that fibroblasts need to produce collagen and elastin, combined with hyaluronic acid, so it is targeting the structural protein synthesis process more directly.
Polynucleotides tend to excel where there is skin damage, redness, pigmentation or a need for significant repair, and they have strong evidence in under-eye hollowing and skin that has been compromised by sun damage or scarring. SuneKOS tends to perform particularly well for overall skin quality, firmness and elasticity across larger areas like the face, neck and decolletage. I offer both, and there are patients for whom one is clearly more appropriate than the other. There are also patients where combining them across a treatment programme makes very good sense.
Because this is a medical treatment involving injectable products, and it should be carried out by someone with the medical knowledge to assess you properly, prescribe appropriately and manage anything unexpected. Beyond the regulatory point, my GP background means I am used to thorough history-taking, thinking about the whole patient, and having straightforward conversations when something is not right. I think that matters.
Before: I will advise you specifically at consultation, but generally I ask patients to avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements where possible, alcohol for 24 hours beforehand, and any recent sunburn or active skin irritation.
After: avoid intense heat, direct sun, strenuous exercise and certain skincare actives for a short period. I give written aftercare before you leave.
