How to Treat Bruises Caused from Injectables
Posted on 20th October 2022
Did you know, we can treat bruises? A bruise, also known as a contusion, is a type of hematoma of tissue.
The most common cause of a bruise is capillaries damaged by trauma, causing localised bleeding that extravasates into the surrounding interstitial tissue.
Most bruises occur close to the epidermis, causing a visible discolouration. The bruise then remains until the blood is either absorbed by tissue or cleared by the immune system. Bruises are typically caused by blunt trauma.
Blunt trauma causes damage through physical compression and deceleration forces. The trauma can be caused by a variety of situations i.e. falls, accidents, exercise, weight training, impact sports, and general knocks and bumps.
Bruises from aesthetic treatments are usually caused by injectable treatments such as dermal fillers.
At Health and Aesthetics, we can treat bruises by speeding up the healing process and eradicating the appearance of bruising from the surface of the epidermis. This innovative laser treatment is particularly welcomed by those who have experienced bruising prior to an event.
The 1064nm wavelength from the Excel V+ laser machine, pioneered by Cutera, is particularly effective in the treatment of deeper blood vessels and vascular concerns. The 1064nm wavelength is the wavelength used for treating hemangiomas and bruising.
Providing complimentary laser treatment to eradicate bruising caused by treatment-induced trauma such as from dermal fillers is an additional reason why our clinic is a favoured choice by many of our patients.
We can also offer treatment for bruising as a stand-alone treatment, for further information please contact our reception team via email or telephone.
Please note that not all candidates are suitable for laser treatment, this can be for a variety of reasons i.e. medical reasons and skin type.
