MD Codes Distinction

I have just attended the most inspiring conference on the MD Codes Distinction programme. I have received training from Dr Mauricio de Maio, an international expert and eminent plastic surgeon from Brazil.

The beginnings

Dr de Maio originally developed the 8 Point Lift after identifying 8 key areas for treatment. He has subsequently developed the MD Codes in 2015. The MD Codes are predefined and precise sites on the face where dermal fillers can be injected for optimal, natural results. There are, in fact, 75 different MD Codes for the face, which makes it a very precise and superior treatment.

MD Distinction Programme

The Distinction programme has strengthened my knowledge of the MD Codes with regards to analysing, developing a treatment plan and then treating my patients.

It has also enabled me to learn new ways to inject dermal fillers so that I can rejuvenate sympathetically and my patients can achieve outstanding natural looking results.

Many patients point out areas of concern which is quite restrictive, but in reality, they desire much more than what they are asking. This is why, many patients are unhappy. I always try to understand the motivation. Do they feel tired, sad, angry or saggy? Once, I understand how my patients feel, I can then incorporate this into their treatment plan. This is what I want to deliver to my patients.

In the past, fillers were injected wherever individual practitioners saw lines and wrinkles. This type of treatment added weight and volume and resulted in more sagging and drooping resulting in unnatural square shaped appearance.

The use of these codes has addressed this problem. It allows for bespoke, tailor made treatments, which take into account the aging process, facial proportions and anatomy.

Small volumes of dermal fillers injected at precise sites will create natural looking lift and rejuvenation. Patients will look and feel happier. This method of treatment is far safer and superior to any other method.

Types of fillers

At health + aesthetics we use the latest generation of premium fillers from the Allergan Juvederm Vycross Range.

These include: Juvederm Voluma, Juvederm Volift, Juvederm Vobella and Juvederm Volite. There are over 25 years of experience and numerous clinical trials which demonstrate that they are safe and effective.

The Juvederm range is smooth in consistency and hence results in less swelling, bruising and natural looking results. Results can last 12-18 months depending upon the area treated.

The Juvederm range also contains a mild local anaesthetic. The skin is also numbed with some local anaesthetic cream prior to treatment. This results in a very comfortable treatment.
