The risks of inferior cosmetic treatments

Posted on 15th November 2015 by Dr Rekha Tailor

The media is full of stories of the risks of inferior cosmetic treatments.

This is just one article of many that highlights the shocking problems that can result from having treatments using inferior machines.

Complication 6 months following inferior cosmetic treatments

No professional should have offered the treatment on question to this young mother. She was recovering after the birth of her baby and her body shape was still changing. She didn’t receive a proper assessment or all relevant information.

What it shows is that it is vitally important to attend a reputable clinic, with well-trained staff. Also, you need to make sure that there are approved equipment in your clinic of choice so that you can avoid the risks of inferior cosmetic treatments.

Zeltiq, the manufacturer of CoolSculpting, has run numerous clinical trials. It is the ONLY cold-based, non-surgical device that has FDA clearance and CE Mark Class IIa status to prove its safety and effectiveness.

The genuine machine has an in-built Freeze Detect safety mechanism to ensure there is NO RISK of damage or freeze burns to the skin during treatment. It is the ONLY device on the market which incorporates this safety mechanism.

What is CoolSculpting?

To date there have been over 3 million patients treated safely worldwide using CoolSculpting technology.

health + aesthetics was the first clinic in Surrey and Hampshire to have had a CoolSculpting machine. We have had the machine for several years now. Hence, we have performed numerous treatments and have a lot of experience.

We offer all our patients a thorough consultation to assess if CoolSculpting is suitable for them. Then develop a bespoke treatment plan based on their body shape and what they want to achieve.

The use of copy machines, which haven’t been through any proof to be safe and effective, may well be cheaper in the short term. However, as the above article shows, they could come at a cost in terms of long term health implications.
