The primary indication for SkinVive is the cheeks, though it can also be used on the neck and décolleté as part of a broader skin quality plan. HarmonyCa: The Hybrid That Lifts and Stimulates
HarmoniCa is a different proposition altogether. It is a hybrid injectable that combines two active ingredients in a single, ready-to-use product: crosslinked hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres, with lidocaine included for comfort. Each of those two components does something distinct.
The HA provides an immediate effect: volume, lift and hydration at the moment of injection. Patients see a visible change on the day of treatment. The CaHA microspheres then get to work as a biostimulator, triggering the body’s own fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. This second mechanism is slower and more gradual, with the improvement continuing to develop over two to three months following treatment. The combination of an immediate visible result and a progressive biological one is what makes HarmonyCa distinctive.
HarmonyCa is administered using a cannula in the mid and lower face: the cheeks, pre-jowl area and jawline. It is not used in the lips, under the eyes or in areas requiring very superficial injection. Duration
SkinVive typically lasts six to nine months, with most patients returning for a top-up at around five to six months. HarmonyCa lasts considerably longer, generally twelve to eighteen months or more, because part of the improvement is based on collagen that the body itself has produced. That collagen does not disappear when the product metabolises.

Is SkinVive the same as Profhilo?
No, though they are often compared because both improve skin quality and hydration without adding volume. Profhilo uses a high concentration of pure HA that spreads freely through the tissue via the BAP injection technique, providing bioremodelling as well as hydration. SkinVive uses modified, lightly crosslinked HA delivered as precise intradermal microdroplets that stay where they are placed, targeting smoothness and glow specifically in the skin surface layer. Both are good treatments; they work differently and produce a slightly different quality of result.
How soon before an event should I have SkinVive?
SkinVive is a relatively quick treatment to settle. Most patients are happy with how their skin looks within two to five days, once any minor injection-site marks have resolved. For a significant occasion, I would suggest having SkinVive at least two weeks beforehand to allow the full effect to be visible and to give any minor swelling or marks time to completely settle. Having it four to six weeks before gives the most comfortable margin.
Does HarmonyCa hurt?
Most patients find it very tolerable. The product contains lidocaine, which numbs the area progressively during treatment, and it is administered using a cannula rather than a needle in most areas, which reduces discomfort considerably. We can also apply a topical numbing cream beforehand for patients who prefer it. The most accurate thing I can say is that most patients are surprised by how comfortable it is.
Can HarmonyCa be dissolved if I am not happy with the result?
Partially. The hyaluronic acid component can be dissolved with Hyalase. The calcium hydroxyapatite component cannot be dissolved and will biodegrade naturally over time. In practice, dissatisfaction with HarmonyCa results is uncommon when the treatment is correctly planned and the patient’s goals are realistic, but this is one of the reasons we take the consultation process seriously. Knowing what a treatment can and cannot achieve before you have it is part of what allows us to set appropriate expectations.
