In the evolving world of aesthetic medicine, non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures have become increasingly popular for those seeking a healthier, firmer appearance without the downtime and risks associated with surgery.
Endolift and Morpheus8 are two of the most advanced treatments in this arena. Both procedures offer impressive results, but they operate with different technologies and are usually suited to different patient needs.
So, is Endolift or Morpheus8 the right treatment for you? This article explores the differences between the treatments, helping you make an informed decision on the best treatment for your aesthetic goals.
What is Endolift and how does it work?
Endolift is a minimally invasive procedure that uses laser energy to sculpt and define your facial features.
The procedure involves inserting a thin optical fibre under the skin which delivers laser energy to the targeted areas. This energy initiates a wound-healing response that stimulates collagen production – a skin protein that is essential for providing skin with its strength, structure, and elasticity. By improving the overall skin architecture, over time, healthier skin cells begin to develop, providing a tighter, more sculpted look and feel.
Endolift laser energy can also target and diminish small pockets of unwanted fat, helping to further contour targeted regions.
What is Morpheus8 and how does it work?
Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radio frequency (RF) energy to address skin textural issues such as enlarged pores and acne scarring, skin laxity, and wrinkles.
The device uses a matrix of tiny needles to penetrate the skin and deliver the RF energy into deep layers of the skin. Similarly to Endolift, this helps to initiate collagen production, which leads to smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin. However, it won’t stimulate collagen as much as Endolift, so Endolift is generally favourable if skin laxity is the main concern.
The depth of treatment can be adjusted, making Morpheus8 versatile in treating various skin conditions, from fine lines, scarring and skin laxity.
Endolift vs Morpheus8: what are the key differences?
Technology
Endolift uses laser technology, whereas Morpheus8 uses a combination of microneedling and radio frequency.
Ideal candidate
Endolift is the holy grail of non-surgical skin tightening treatments. It’s best suited for individuals with moderate or major skin laxity or localised fat deposits, usually associated with ageing. It’s very popular for people looking to tighten areas such as the neck, jowls, under the chin, and nasolabial folds (creases of skin from the nose to the corners of the mouth).
On the other hand, microneedling treatments like Morpheus8 are ideal for patients with skin texture or tone issues like enlarged pores or scarring. Morpheus8 can also provide a gentle lift to the skin helping to improve the earlier signs of ageing like wrinkles and mild skin laxity.
Results and recovery
Morpheus8 requires a course of treatments. Results from Morpheus8 are typically seen within a few months, with improvements continuing over time. Downtime for this treatment is minimal, with some minor redness that subsides within a few days.
Endolift usually requires one treatment. Results can be seen in as little as three months. Over the course of the next 3 to 12 months, collagen production steadily continues to build up, offering a continuous improvement in skin health. Recovery time is minimal. Some patients might experience very little redness, swelling, and bruising, but this is temporary and often very minor.
Longevity of treatment
Endolift is seen as a long-term treatment, where just one Endolift treatment can provide results which last for several years, especially with proper medical-grade skin care and maintenance. In some cases a repeat treatment every 12 months may be beneficial. Where facial volume loss is contributing to skin laxity, best results are seen where Endolift is combined with dermal fillers to both tighten the skin and replace the volume.
The results of Morpheus8 are less permanent, but can last for up to a year, depending on your skin condition and maintenance. After an initial course of treatments, regular treatments are usually needed every 3 months to maintain results.
What’s the right treatment for me?
Endolift vs Morpheus8 is a common debate for lots of clients interested in improving the health and youthfulness of their skin. However, ultimately, the right treatment for you comes down to what your skin concerns are and your overall skin goals.
At Health & Aesthetics, we are proud to offer a full medical consultation which helps you to decide the safest and most effective treatment options for your needs. Our team of highly skilled therapists and doctors are here to answer your questions and explore our range of safe and effective treatments.
At our clinic, we offer Endolift, but we do not offer Morpheus8. Instead, we prefer an improved treatment known as Secret RF, which delivers similar benefits such as firmer skin with improved texture and tone. Secret RF is highly customisable and a fantastic option for those with sensitive skin types. The technology is renowned for its safety and its ability to treat large surface areas. Secret RF involves a series of 3 treatments and requires maintenance treatments every 6 to 12 months, which is less than Morpheus8.
It also requires less downtime than Morpheus 8 and is generally more comfortable.
